The Association of Local Government Information Management s website survey, measuring sites against Government web standards, online services and accessi- bility, saw the Wairarapa councils post the worst results -- South Wairarapa came last (78th), and Masterton was 76th. New Plymouth took the supreme website prize, followed by Porirua and Tasman. Wellington came in fifth, Kapiti seventh, Hutt City 21st, Greater Welling- ton Regional Council 22nd, Horowhenua 36th, Upper Hutt City 37th, and Horizons Regional Council 48th. The results did not specify in what area those at the bottom of the field failed, but for $350 the councils could order a report telling them how they could improve. A fizzy world record display Record: Local Pak 'n Save staff have staged the world's biggest display of Coca-Cola cans. By ANDREA O'NEIL We re told from childhood not to play with our food, but local supermarket staff have found it hard to resist. Porirua s Pak n Save staff recently organised the biggest display of Coca-Cola in the world -- but there was no Guinness world record involved, it was all for the fun of it. Four trucks pulled into the super- market s car park on July 7 carrying 67 pallets of Coca-Cola 18-packs, or 180,725 cans, plus 4200 bottles of fizzy drink. The trucks, parked head to tail, took up 40 car parks. They let down their sides to display their wares and later sold the drink to customers right off the truck. Pak n Save grocery manager Sasa Overend says he organised the event after hearing from his Coca-Cola distributors of similar displays in the United States. They were saying it couldn t be done in New Zealand. He has now proved them wrong, and is ready to stage another display if anyone beats his record.
