Popular plods: Porirua police officers got plenty of high-fives from local youngsters on Saturday. The weather came to the party and so did an estimated 35,000 people at Creekfest on Saturday. Icecream stalls and the cancer society sunscreen tents drew long lines as Porirua turned on a cracker day for the Cannons Creek healthy living music festi- val. Organiser Liz Kelly was thrilled with the atmosphere on the day, saying she particularly enjoyed seeing mums and dads spending time with their children. Music wasn't the only attraction though. Twelve-year-old Ethan Starkey-Thomas said he was hanging out for the league games later in the afternoon, and plenty of toddlers found games and activities at various health and education stalls.
