Loud Shirt day Normally too embarrassed to hook out that Hawaiian or tie-dyed shirt in the wardrobe? Friday, September 21, is the day to bring out your most outrageous top and support deaf kids on Loud Shirt Day. The fundraiser helps profoundly deaf children -- those who couldn't hear an aeroplane if it was right next to them -- once they have received cochlear implants and need specialised therapy to learn to listen and speak. Funds raised help The Hearing House and the Southern Cochlear Implant Paediatric Programme to provide free therapy to deaf kids right around New Zealand. There is also a seven-night trip to Hawaii to be won. Register to take part at loudshirtday.org.nz.
